There are plenty of sites that will give you a review of treadmills, and some that will do a feature by feature comparison. We are the only one that focuses on what matters most, the bang for the buck. Does that mean that we will always recommend an electric treadmill just because it is inexpensive? No way. We believe that the cost of you electric treadmill is only partly determined by the purchase price. There are plenty of other factors to consider:
Repairs: What is the MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures – a number or ratio indicating how often a piece of equipment can be expected to break down. Ex: This models; MTBF is 2000 hours) for this model?
Service: Can I get these electric treadmills fixed here in town? Or does it have to be shipped ot a service center? If so, who eats the shipping?
Warranty: Does the manufacturer usually stand behind their work?
Features: This is a place where people can really go overboard. If all you want to do is take a 1 mile walk in the morning while you sip coffee, do you need adjustable incline, how about programmable adjustable incline? Maybe not.
Is this machine made here, or overseas?
And finally, is this a cheap treadmill?
We should note that the way we use the term cheap here is more in line with it being a synonym of frugal, not flimsy or shoddy. We like cheap – as long as we get quality along with it. It’s not as hard to find as you may think, especially if you are willing to give up a few bells and whistles.
